We close deals -- then stay engaged to help clients make it work.

A different approach to entertainment finance representation

Most transactional lawyers focus on getting closing documents signed and then move on. In film and television, however, the real risk begins after closing—when capital is deployed and the project moves into production, delivery, and exploitation.

Strong documents matter, but they do not ensure that a production stays on time, on budget, or deliverable. Managing those risks requires experienced judgment applied while the project is actually underway.

That’s where our practice is different. We structure and close transactions, then stay engaged through the life of the project to help clients manage risk, address issues early, and keep deals on track.

What this looks like in practice

Financing & Transaction Structure
We represent producers and financiers in equity and debt financings for film and television projects. Our work focuses on structuring and documenting transactions that are designed to function under real production conditions—not just on paper.
Diligence & Capital Risk Assessment
We evaluate financing plans, budgets, assumptions, and legal structures before and after closing to identify risks that can affect capital preservation, timing, and delivery.
Post-Closing Engagement
Where appropriate, we remain engaged after financing closes—monitoring developments during production, delivery, and early exploitation to help clients identify issues and take corrective actions while options still exist.

How we stay ahead of problems

Staying engaged is not a passive concept. Our work is supported by a proprietary analytical framework we use to assess project health, identify emerging risks, and track how a production is performing against its assumptions over time.

We refer to this system as FailSafe Analytics. It is designed to surface issues earlier—while there are still practical options to address them—so that risk can be managed before capital is lost, rather than documented after the fact.

In appropriate engagements, this analysis informs both initial diligence and ongoing monitoring as a project moves through production and delivery.

Who we work with

We work with independent film and television producers, private financiers, sales companies, and other stakeholders on projects where meaningful capital is at risk and successful execution matters.

Our work is primarily focused on financing-related transactions and the protection of invested capital, not general production services.

A different standard of legal involvement

Most legal work in this industry ends at closing. Ours does not. We are not guarantors of outcomes, and we do not replace production or business teams. Our role is to apply experienced legal judgment during the period when plans meet reality—so problems are identified earlier, options remain available, and clients are better positioned to respond.
