Jeff Young is an active member of the Law Society of British Columbia, Canada and the State Bar of California, USA.
Jeff received his Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia, where he also studied Commerce. He began his thirty-two year legal career in corporate and real estate law. He ultimately focused on intellectual property, new media, sports and entertainment, particularly in film/TV and music. Companies that have received his legal work include Fox Family Channel, the OutTV Network, the Vancouver Whitecaps, Shavick Entertainment, the Shaw Rocket Fund, and the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
During his successful legal career, Jeff has negotiated with major entertainment and media corporations including Virgin, BMG, Disney, Sony and Warner/Chappell. He acted for and advised a Grammy and other award winning artists, and an associate counsel of an entertainment law boutique that represents international, local major, and independent film and TV clients. In addition to his work with Goff Law Corporation, Jeff currently acts for a number of Vancouver music publishers, film companies, sports franchises and live entertainment venues in negotiating business deals involving media, film, music, sports and entertainment.
Jeff is also a music composer, producer and supervisor with credits on numerous critically-acclaimed recordings including projects delivered to Warner, Universal, CBC, CTV, NBC, Global, Hallmark and the Knowledge Network. Jeff has three full-length feature film music composing credits (along with numerous other short film credits), and was also the music mix engineer for some of Vivendi Universal's most successful video games: The Hulk, Dark Angel, and The Simpsons' Hit and Run, considered by many critics to be "the best Simpsons game ever".
Jeff is based in Vancouver, Canada, and his hobbies are skiing, cycling, attending symphonic concerts and hockey games.
